Help with the daily routine
Staff help with bathing, dressing, toileting, meals, and getting around. Help comes from the same small team, so your loved one sees the same faces each day.

Memory loss care
Memory loss by itself is fine at American Golden Care. We are a six-bed adult foster care home in Westland, with staff on site day and night. We do not have a locked unit, so we are not the right home for someone who wanders or tries to leave.

Who this home fits
It fits when your loved one is safe inside the house but should not live alone anymore. Families often call us when a parent:
If your loved one wanders or needs a locked memory care unit, we are not the right home. Call us anyway. We will tell you straight.

Staff manage and give medicines, and the pharmacy delivers. The home’s van takes residents to doctor visits. Registered nurses are available for wound care.
Staff are in the home 24 hours a day, including overnight. With six residents, help is close by at any hour, for the bathroom, getting around, or medicine.

Why a small home
American Golden Care is a house on a quiet street in Wayne County, not a big building. Six people live here. Meals are home-cooked and planned around each diet.
Most weeks include games, music, a movie night, and a meal out, with park visits when the weather is good. Johnpaul Nwogu, a nurse, owns and runs the home.
